On the brighter side… iShake It polaroid-like camera application submitted

So we here at Bearded Pony are not discouraged – now we’re even hungrier for our first application success… this one I think is a slam dunk.  It’s called iShake It Camera, and the concept is that you either take a picture with the camera or choose one from your library, and the application adds a cool retro instant camera frame and a corkboard backgroud to the picture.  You can also write little notes in the fame in one of 3 fonts if you want to annotate the picture.

See…

The best part about this app, though, isn’t the end result, but the process.  Just like the old polaroids, the picture gradually fades in.  Even cooler, if you shake the phone, then  the picture develops faster.

Yes we know that shaking a real polaroid does not make it develop faster – this was in the news shortly after Outkast’s “Hey Ya” became a big hit and Polaroid issued this statement:

Polaroid warns buyers not to ‘shake it’

For some reason, it was something that everyone in the country figured out at the same time… like blowing in the Nintendo cartridges to get the dust out. How does stuff like that happen?

Until next time,

P.J. the Pony
